It was schedule to be a 1 hour virtual Q&A session hosted on zoom and extended to Facebook LIVE for more mileage moderated by Nvanungi Joanitah the Administrative Lead. Joanitah shared a 10 to 15 minute presentation that comprised of the who we are, what we do and why we do what we do. The presentation also answered many of the questions that included, what are the tuition fees, do you offer scholarships, how long is the program, what will I learn, can you guarantee that I will get a job after the program, to mention but a few.
On the call we also had students that are currently taking the program to share some of their experiences and put some worries at ease.Deciding whether to continue with A Level or not but with a desire to pursue are career in tech was one of our guests Jotham Phillip who shared his journey but maintained focus on active school going individuals who joined the call. We also had Queen Emily Tusiime a practicing lawyer who shared her experience with the program with specific attention to those intending to shift careers to tech. Her testimonial was to encourage them that it is possible. Lastly on the call we had Biko Jeremy, also a catalyst student on the program taking his classes from Kabale. He shared that he had left his job to concentrate on the program to be able to develop the necessary technical and non-technical skill he needs for his new venture into gainful employment.Jeremy’s main focus was to calm those who had questions about having classes remotely.
All the participants shared their journey before and during Refactory, their challenges and the intended goals for committing to the program. There after we spent the remaining time answering any question that came in through the comment section.
