Why Industry Seminars?

We thought to ourselves, what are those things we can do to support our alumni as they transition from our care and get into the workforce, how do we continue to train and equip them even as they are done with their studies, how do we keep them engaged and feel supported?

Then a light bulb moment,💡💡💡💡
We should invite formidable people, both in and out of the tech industry who have had a positive influence in the fields they command to share with our alumni community how they have been able to get to where they are and the simple principles behind their journey, henceforth the “Industry Seminars” were born.

In these seminars, we have had the privilege of hosting amazing speakers with a vast wealth of experience to share with our alumni community in the spaces they influence. These speaking engagements have left our students with more answers than questions, thought-provoking conversations and engaging discussions. From personal development, software development, questions about AI, how all these skills they have acquired will go along way in helping them acquire work to forth industry revolution.

Some notable conversations include:

Bekure Tamirat – Who introduced our students to GEBEYA, the African tech market place and the opportunities available to our student community.

Edgar Kasenene – who opened our students’ eyes to see beyond software development and their jobs, pointing them in promising directions. A very self-reflection-based conversation.

Renita Nabisubi – who gave our students insight into the digital economy and they can better position themselves to put their skills and expertise to good use.

Abdul Sekalala – who shared his journey and how to stay relevant in the tech ecosystem. His seminar was from a personal experience and how he was able to move with the times.

To mention but a few.

We continue to look out for industry movers that will push our students to pursue the best version of themselves and to better prepare to use technology to solve societal problems. If you would like to be a part of this movement do not hesitate to reach out to us here or drop us a message here and we will get back to you on steps moving forward.
